While I don't believe in "The Universe" because I believe God is running the show, I do believe in positive thinking and I really believe that we do manifest our desires in some way. If we are always depressed we have to start looking at how we are thinking.As someone who struggled with depression for over 15 years I can truly say my thoughts kept me trapped in a very negative mood. This book explains how with simple steps you can change the way you feel by changing your thoughts. For that this books is excellent.
The authors teach you how to say affirmations and how to use visualization to your advantage. They also talk about gratitude exercises.
What the authors don't talk about is how God fits into the picture. I have come to believe that you can only be truly happy in the long-term when you are in love with God. (Or you could find temporary happiness by falling in love with a person too.)
I think ultimately God is controlling our lives in some way and he might bring circumstances into our lives to cause us to grow spiritually. Depression did that for me at least. I am a much better person for the times I was depressed. There does seem to be some reason for emotional suffering.
So while there will always be down times you can increase the up times by thinking positively and following the advice in this book.
